After two months of absolute insanity at work, it's starting to slow down. And I'm taking advantage of that and am allowing myself to leave the office at normal hours, to eat lunch on the office's rooftop deck instead of while in meetings, and to dress a little more casually (a break from styling the 'prefect outfit' is nice...). Just like this outfit. Comfortable. Casual. Cool.

But all this unexpected downtime this week has left me craving one thing and one thing only. Going for a run...in the middle of the day. All I can think about is how I'd rather be running.
Now, I consider myself a runner. I've ran in a few marathons, half marathons and a bunch of other races - and I enjoy it. I used to run every day but took a 'break' to get my motivation boosted again. And, it might just be the amazing weather and wanting to never be indoors, but it's definately boosted again.
At my last job I was able to leave the office whenever I had downtime and go for a run. It was completely acceptable for me to be out on a 30-40 minute run at 2 in the afternoon - and a bunch of people actually did just that. But I've only been at my new job for 9 months. And I feel like they may not be as excited about me being away from the office during office hours. I have a hard enough time leaving the office just to pick up something for lunch.

I know! Instead I spend my afternoon on Pintrest,
because I'm locked to my desk. |
So I guess that leaves me with running in the morning even though I despise waking up anytime before 7:30am. Ever. Well, at least until I get enough balls to actually take a lunch break at this job and go pound some pavement.
Are any of you runners? How and when do you find time to fit it into your busy schedules?
And, today I'm linking up to:
