I own yellow pants

Jacket + Shoes: Target - Shirt: BCBG - Pants: Gap

Maybe they're more like mustard pants. I also own mustard tights. I love this color. But, when I first got these I had no idea how to wear them. White t-shirt? Black sweater? Honeslty, I ran out of options really fast and then just stopped wearing them. But once I realized that I don't have to be afraid of color and/or layering, I had a lot of fun creating outfits with these pants.

For those of you that love colored pants but have the same problem that I did, here are some other ways to wear mustard colored pants.

I'm 6'2 today

Sunnies, Tank, Jacket + Pants: Target - Stocking Hat: Charity for Africa - Shoes: Steve Madden

I don't wear heels that often anymore (I used to every day), but these heels I can't help but love. They're funky and show my personality, while being REALLY comfortable. I could walk in them all day without wanting to cry. So, today I am 6'2. I'll try to not walk next to any of my short friends though!

Dog training for Dummies

Sweater: Gap - Tank: F21 - Jeans: Hudsons - Shoes: Target

My crazy, messy side braid

We decided that we needed to take a trip to the library to look for dog training books. With two dogs in the house now, it's constantly a playground or a battle field depending on how you look at it. I think it's time for some real training, so Dog Training for Dummies it is!  And of course while I was at the library I found a couple of books for myself too.

My 30 before 30
Hi friends. So ever since I turned 26, the number 30 scares the crap out of me. In order to help myself 'cope' with getting older, I decided to start a 30 before 30 list. Follow along as I cross these things off my list. And let me know what things you have on your list!

Sunday Storytime: Hunger Games Trilogy

Ok people. Have you read Hunger Games yet? Because if you have, it's a trilogy! I read the next two in under a week. More like 4 days. Each books is better than the last. I'm not going to give any reviews in case you haven't read Hunger Games yet, I don't want to give anything away. But I promise, you won't be able put them down. The suspense was so high that I caught myself skipping ahead just so I didn't have to wait to see what happened!  Read them and let me know what you think. Happy reading!

Beautiful day in the neighborhood

Shirt, Jacket + Shoes: Target - Jeans: Guess - Sweater: Old Navy

Isn't this building I'm in front of great? I love everything about it. This is the Molly Brown House, which is just on the other side of my block. Molly Brown was one of the Titanic survivors for anyone that doesn't know who she is, because I sure didn't before I moved here.

A Bon Jovi kind of Friday

Vest + Shirt: F21 - Shorts - ? They're OLD pants that I cut into shorts - Tights + Boots: Target

Happy Friday everyone. I'll be jamming out to 80's and 90's rock all day today. Stuff that makes me want to stand up and sing/scream the lyrics. And dance all around the office.  Maybe I'll even sing into a hairbrush or something! Watch out.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Hat: Vintage - Shirt: Hubby's - Pants: F21 - Shoes: Steve Madden

Hi All! I'm in love with Sydney's Awkward and Awesome Thursday's on The Daybook and decided that I NEED to participate in this.

Awkward
- My husbands idea of 'candid' photos. At least he was having fun at my expense
- Taking my blog pictures at the end of the work day. Make up = gone. Hair = a mess. Eyes = red from staring at the computer all day. Beautiful.
- When Roxy decides that she NEEDS to smell everyone that's walking past us on the sidewalk and trips a nice lady. Sorry!!
- The fact that I'm pigging out on trail mix at my desk where everyone can see
-A garbled and smack-y sounding 'Hey Jon!' from still chewing up my banana when my client called my cell this morning
- Having every single person say 'hi!' to me when I walk into the bank. And having to say hi back 15 different times

Awesome
- Chocolate for breakfast
- Wearing shorts in March, even if I do have tights underneath
- The two ADORABLE little girls in their Tutu's where I got my lunch
- Getting $75 in 'rewards' from my bank unexpectedly today! Yay money! That will pay for me to get new zippers put in my favorite boots.
- Cuddling up on the couch with hubby to watch Survivor last night. Oh how we love that show
- Looking forward to a lazy weekend at home with the hubby. Not doing ANYTHING. Except maybe reading. And watching Dexter.

Wide-legged Wednesday

Sunnies + Shirt : F21 - Pants: Joe's - Watch + Shoes: Target

Don't you love when you hold onto clothes long enough and they come back in style? Not that these pants were ever 'out' of style, but wide-leg jeans are back! My 16 pairs of skinny jeans have some competition again. Although I need to get some wider wide-legs, these Joe's will suffice for now.

Here's some wide-legs I'm loving in stores now.

Flower girls

Flowy, flowery dresses are the 'it' thing this season. Shorter dresses with strappy heels and socks or maxi dresses with flats. Here are some of my favorites.

Dressy dress Monday

Jacket: Target - Dress: BeBop at TJMaxx - Shoes: Steve Madden

While shopping with my husband and his best friend to show them the type of clothes that they should be wearing, I found the cutest dress ever. I have a thing for really bright colors lately. And zippers I guess.  So to start my week off right, I decided to dress up. I whipped out my open toe heels, I mean it is Spring now and threw on a blazer to make this fun, flirty dress a little bit more professional. Hopefully it worked.

And with a WINDY day outside, inside pictures it is. Didn't want to end up mooning any of the neighbors, as exciting as that would be.

Sunday Storytime: The Hunger Games

Welcome to the first edition of Sunday Storytime! Corny, I know. Every Sunday I wake up wanting to only cuddle up on the couch and read a good book all day long. In honor of that, each Sunday I'll give a book recommendation or review.  And here's my first book that EVERYONE needs to read. It's called The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

Although this is yet another Young Adult book, its an amazing read for people our age too. Without ruining the book, it's a story about a young girl fending for her family in a future where democracy has been abandoned. The Capital's entertainment is the poor, unfed and desperate fighting to the death. It sounds dark, but I promise, it's amazing. Take a read and let me know what you think!

The start of Sunday Storytime

Every Sunday morning, I wake up dreaming about grabbing a good book and cuddling up on the couch and drinking hot chocolate. Or eating ice cream. Or both. So in honor of this dream, each Sunday I'll give a book recommendation and a very short but sweet review of the book. I promise, I won't give too much away!  Get excited. I know I am.
